I’m Joey, one of the co-founders🤠 of AOTsend.

⚠️ **Identifying the Problem **
In my previous role as a senior manager at a web development company, our team frequently set up email sending APIs for clients. Through this experience, we discovered a significant issue affecting most email service providers: spam. Specifically, certain individuals exploit various methods to bulk register new accounts and send mass spam emails. This activity leads to IP blacklisting, which in turn impacts the deliverability of our clients' emails. Many of our clients primarily send transactional emails, such as registration codes and password resets. When these emails are affected by blacklisted IPs, it can lead to registered user loss. While this issue might seem minor, our data indicates that IP blacklisting results in delivery failures between 0.4% and 1.6% of the time.

🎯 **Our Solution**
To address this problem, I partnered with a developer to create the AOTsend platform. Unlike most providers that follow a reactive "send first, block later" approach, we use a proactive "review first, send later" strategy. We have implemented strict processes to mitigate the impact of spam:

🚀 1. **API-Only Sending**:
We only allow email sending through our API, not SMTP. This choice provides better security and easier management.

⚙️ 2. **Managed Templates + Parameters (MTP)**:
Our solution combines managed email templates with variable parameters. This means that email content and variable parameters are reviewed separately. For instance, the content of a registration code email is reviewed as a managed email template, while the 6-digit code itself is a variable parameter sent with each API call. Our MTP process firstly filters out non-compliant template content during the template review phase, secondly checks variable parameters for compliance during API calls. This two-step verification significantly reduces spam and ensures the security and reliability of our service. Additionally, this approach allows for clear separation between technical developers and email designers, enabling designers to independently modify email content without coordinating with developers.

🌞 **Current Status of AOTsend**
After several months of development and internal testing, AOTsend is now fully operational and stable. We are currently using our own email API system to send registration codes on our site. We are confident in our product's readiness and are excited to offer it to all clients with transactional email API needs.
